Someone reached out to me last week about getting into digital health. There are several resources that I sent to her that I think might be helpful for others that are interested in the digital health space within the NHS and beyond.
It's easy to get overwhelmed if you're just starting and challenging to know where to look or identify what's important. I suggest starting with learning about the NHS digital health landscape and building your knowledge from there. Also, take your time with consuming all this content, there's no rush.
It's mainly for those with clinical backgrounds but is also useful for non-clinicians.
I've kept it short and simple and I hope it's useful.
Read:
My Digital Unacademy Blog- great resource by Dr Gurkaran Samra especially when thinking of digital health courses to consider.
Listen:
Big Picture Medicine -very underrated resource! I think Dr Mustafa Sultan does an an amazing job with this podcast.
The Healthtech Podcast - Dr James Somauroo and his team at SomX produce so much great content about healthtech. If you don't know then get to know.
Faces of Digital Health- I'd recommend the Nordic Series. It's interesting to learn about the processes and regulations of other countries in digital health.
Watch:
What does the digital revoultion hold for the clinical workforce?- Fantastic overview by Liam Cahill. Highly recommend.
Subscribe:
Healthtech Pigeon by SomX- If you want one, chose this one. Easy and concise in my opinion.
Join:
Shuri network - I suggest joining their mentorship programme on Hexitime if you're a health care professional and a BAME woman. I'm a mentor on the platform and happy to provide support if needed.
Twitter- follow as many people in the digital health space as you can. It helps!
Local AHSN- you don't "join them" as such but be aware of their work and be open to reaching out to them.
